CCIE written Version 2 report

6:45am woke up even before the alarm clock went off. Pretty rare these days.

7:30am Took shower and had a cup of coffee with toasted cheese sandwitch.

8:00am - 10:00am Review my handwriting notes on the topics: QoS and BGP. Helped me to relax. Started to feel like "there is nothing that can STOP me from passing the exam!!".

10:00am Left for the test centre.

10:30am Arrvived. Checked myself in.

11:00am The exam started.

11:12am I start to feel that there are too many questions with "exhibit" button and

"I am gonna run out of time if I go on like this man!!"

So I decided to just take on the easy questions without the stupid button first and come back to all the questions with exhibit buttons later on.

12: 10am I came to the last question. I probably missed all the wireless questions. Simply had no idea about them. Let's get on with those guys with the buttons.

1:59pm I manage to answer all the questions before the last minute. I've got a feeling that I may have a 50% chance of passing. Clicked on the "finish" button.

2:00pm "YOU DID NOT PASS THE EXAM."

(Is that right? thanx....)

Yeah, I blew it. I truly felt that I have 50 or 60 percent of passing the exam as I clicked on the "finish" button. I was sure that I was very close. But my score shows otherwise.

My impression on the new CCIEv2 exam.
1. It seemed fairly easy overall apart from some odd questions on Wireless and some redistribution stuff.

2. I needed bit more time to really tackle each question more carefully. Probably this is why there is a gap between how I feel i did and what the score report shows.

3. As many others said, the new exam seems to put focus on QoS and BGP. But none of those questions seem too tricky or complicated.

4. As for the exam contents, most of the stuff discussed in major ccie related forums pretty much cover it.

Next Step:
I will try again by the end of the month.
