CCIE info 2 :asking about the CCIE written version2.0

A few days agao, I sent an e-mail to Cisco asking if legacy protocols are still included in the new version of CCIE pre-qualification exam.

I thought I may not get the answer, but I got a reply this weekend.

Their answer says that the items, which I described in last entry, are

now removed from the exam!!

This must be a good news for those who are thinking of taking CCIE written only hun? I know some folks are thinking of the CCIE written exam as a way to recert as CCNP.

Since I am planning to take on the lab exam after the written one, I'll have to study the legacy protocl anyway.

Oh yes, I got a reply for the second question as wel "Is the exam blueprint going to be updated in the future?".

It appears that there is no schedule to update the blue print at this moment.

This was a bit disappointing...

Reading through the postings on Group Study or other CCIE forums, as always, there are conflicting information.

One says version 2.0 is gonna be really difficult and the other says there is not gonna be much change from the prevoius version apart from the new stuff like wirelss and IPv6.

Hmm, I guess I've spent enough time worrying about the content of the exam. It is time to hit all these books piled up on my desk!!!!

Total Study time for CCIE since the first of Feb

Multicast : 6 hours
IPv6 : 5 hours
Review BCMSN text : 1 hour

Please note what's written here is only my personal note and does not guarantee anything about what's gonna be included or not included in the actual exam. If you would like to get accurate information, please consult with CCIE support yourself.
